Katie Hannon Task Force
Location: Croatoa
Main Enemy: The Cabal
Archvillain: Mary Marcomber
Level to Attend: 30-34
Minimum Teammates: 6 (total)
To "unlock" this task force, you must complete the story arcs throughout Croatoa starting with the first contact, Gordon Brower, then on to Skipper Lagrange, then Kelly Nemmers, lastly Buck Salinger. Buck will complete his missions by mentioning that you should go see Katie Hannon. You can then do her task force.
As with all Cabal missions, there will be a lot of lightning. Come prepared with lots of blue inspirations. There are also plenty of bosses. They and Mary MacComber will have Hurricane going pretty much all the time, so you'll want knockback protection as well. Sturdy helps against knockback, but the temp power from your SG base works better and lasts a whole hour.
Mission Breakdown:
1. Defeat Mary Macomber: You will need to start attacking witches when you enter the mission. Pick where you want to fight Mary and attack the closest group. She will appear very quickly. You just have to be in or very near the woods.
When she appears, she comes with a strike force of her own. These are her helpers. You get the next badge in the series the moment you defeat Mary, but the next wave won't appear until all her helpers are also defeated. The next wave begins instantly, but you can delay it by leaving one of the witches undefeated. (We did this by holding one until everyone was done resting). If you finish a wave and the next does not instantly appear, it's not bugged. You have a straggler you need to defeat before the next wave will come. Each wave is stronger and larger than the last, and Mary also gets stronger.
When you have defeated Mary the 10th time, you get Ten Times the Victor and your witch hat. To complete the mission, you still have to finish off every witch she brought with her. In order to complete this mission you will need to have killed her 10 times.
When you defeat Mary the 10th time, your badges for defeating her 1-9 times will all disappear and be replaced by Ten Times the Victor. If you do this TF again, you get the lesser badges all over again, up to Eight Times the Victor. Beat her a ninth time and they all go away. (Enemy: Cabal)
2. Free Amy from the Red Caps: The best way to do this without having to bother with all the Red Caps in the front is to Stealth it to Amy and Rescue her. You do not need to take her to the entrance. (Enemy: Red Caps)
3. Defeat All Red Caps: It speaks for itself. (Enemy: Red Caps)
4. Free Katie’s Soul: While you are inside this mission you will find all sorts of Red Caps. But your priority is to get Katie’s Soul out of there. But it does help to save the Cabal witches that are inside fighting with Red Caps because they will follow you and help you fight the Red Caps. You start at the east end. Katie's soul is locked in a HENGE at the west end. Katie is attached to a big glowing Rock. You attack and destroy the henge to free her, then you must escort her all the way down the valley as you fight wave after wave of Red Caps.
The other witches you saved will join you, but they can all be defeated by the Red Caps and they will all chase off after every Red Cap in sight. If Katie's Soul dies, you fail the TF. I recommend you clear the valley before you free Katie, so you only have to fight the waves themselves.
If the person she follows can fly it also makes it easier to get her to the entrance because she will fly over all the Red Caps below. So if there is a member of your team with fly, let them get the last hit on the Henge so Katie will follow them. (Enemy: Red Caps)
After all the fun and games inside you will exit and should have gotten Cap Buster and Spell Binding badge if you defeated everything that you came across. But you will for sure have received the Cabalist Badge, a good amount of exp/influence/Debt-B-Gone whichever comes, and the stylish Cabal Hat under Head, Choice Hats, at Icon, as well as an X Times the Victor(May vary). And you will also receive a temporary power that is an amulet to summon Amy Johnson, a relative of Katie Hannon. Amy is a Storm/Electric Blast Defender. The amulet has 5 charges. You can't summon more than one of her at a time. If you try, the second copy will not appear and you still lose the charge.
I did this task-force with 6 people and we were all over the required level and we did just fine, most of these guys were level 35-36 for us. Well good luck on your task forcing in Croatoa.
